Frequently Asked Questions

Is America’s Christian Credit Union FDIC insured?

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) provides deposit insurance for banks, while credit unions are insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). The NCUA is an independent agency of the U.S. federal government that insures deposits at federally insured credit unions, including America’s Christian Credit Union up to $250,000 per depositor, equal to the FDIC’s coverage for banks. Additionally ACCU also has private insurance for deposits in excess of federal limits through American Share insurance up to $450,000 for personal members and $350,000 for organizational (business) members.

What are the benefits of switching banking to America’s Christian Credit Union?

In addition to being part of a co-operative of believers with a shared set of values, ACCU often offer better interest rates, lower fees, personalized service, community focus, and a sense of ownership for its members.

How does membership work at America’s Christian Credit Union?

Credit unions have membership requirements, typically based on a specific geographic area, occupation, or association. Joining a credit union often involves opening an account and meeting eligibility criteria. For ACCU it is affiliation with a Christian Church, Ministry and/or Christian School by which you are affiliated (attendee, member, volunteer, employee, etc).

Will I have access to ATMs and branches?

Through the Co-Op network ACCU has access to over 30,000 fee-free ATMs and over 5,600 shared branches to provide convenient access to funds and services, both locally and nationwide.

Can I access my accounts and manage finances online?

1 – APY = Annual Percentage Yield (APY) and is accurate as of 11/02/2023. APY assumes original balance and earnings remain on deposit and rate holds constant for 365 days. This offer is available to members using new funds to America’s Christian CU and must be established using external funding source within 7 days of account opening; OR members using proceeds from a maturing ACCU term share certificate on the stated renewal maturity date or up to seven days following the stated maturity date. Limit one high-yield savings account per member. The interest rate and APY will be based on your balance as listed on the rate table.
